The term “Grand Strand” refers to a piece of geography.
The borders are the Intracoastal Waterway on the west side, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the city of Georgetown on the south end and the North Carolina/South Carolina state line up at the north. That is a north/south span of about 60 miles, which takes about an hour and 15 minutes to drive in flowing traffic.
