Just a rumor

If anyone has heard a rumor that Thoroughbreds Restaurant is for sale or has been sold, the restaurant’s owner, Tony Bennett, says neither case is true.

Thoroughbreds, which is in the Restaurant Row section of northern Myrtle Beach along U.S. 17 Bypass, is known locally as a romantic fine dining institution.

Stop complaining and start saving!

We don’t want to hear ONE MORE WORD about saving money by cooking at home. We betting you’re sick of eating in, so we scoured the Internet and made phone calls to our restaurateur friends to find you many budget-friendly reasons to head out to one of your favorite restaurants this weekend.

We even found a job opening, in case you need employment.

Tonight at Emi you can enjoy a complimentary appetizer with the purchase of a summer martini.

Free food and a job

Ben Cachila at Emi Bistro and Sushi Bar in Pawleys Island would like to invite patrons to enjoy an economical summertime special:

You can receive a complimentary appetizer from a select list if you order a cocktail from Emi’s delicious summer martini list. Simply mention you want the free appetizer offer you heard about at Myrtle Beach Restaurant News.

Also, Emi has a job opening in their kitchen. Go HERE for more information.

Dinner and a song

This time of year many restaurants offer live entertainment, especially during the weekends.

Joey Arakas, owner of Joe's Bar & Grill in North Myrtle Beach, recently opened another restaurant at 1200 U.S. 17 S. in North Myrtle Beach (beside Sparkle Car Wash) called Wango Tango Sports Bar & Cantina. They have live entertainment every weekend, and tonight they're having a FREE LUAU that includes barbecued pork and liquor promos featuring tequilas. The band Soul Function will be on the main stage.

Over by the
Waccamaw River in Conway at the SideWheeler Restaurant, Mr. Ray plays mellow dinnertime accompaniments on his keyboard tonight. On Saturday night, Gene McDowell performs oldies tunes on the deck starting at 4 p.m.

The deck is a fine place to observe river traffic, wildlife and River Walk strollers while dining on Waccamaw Seafood Stew, Shrimp and Grits, Jambalaya, Bacon-wrapped Scallops and other regional treats.

The SideWheeler is at 110 Main St. in Conway, and the number is 248-7048.

Oceanfront in Murrells Inlet, Dead Dog Saloon has live entertainment every night. Go HERE to see who is playing on any given evening.

One of our favorite munchies at Dead Dog is Boo Boo’s Tender Bites, where sliced beef tenderloin is on garlic toast with Parmesan mayonnaise, Asiago cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.

Deckerz Bar and Grille, which is at the corner of Main Street and Hillside Drive in North Myrtle Beach, has live entertainment tonight and Saturday night, and on Sunday starting at 5 p.m. they’re having a FREE COOKOUT.
