Monday, February 1, 2010, Myrtle Beach - After just six weeks in business, J&B Soul Food and Caribbean Cuisine has closed.
It was in July 2009 that Myrtle Beach Restaurant News reported that the restaurant at 1604 N. Kings Highway was going to open:“Thursday, July 23, 2009, Myrtle Beach – Jerome West and Jackie Brewster were busy working to get their new restaurant, J&B’s Soul Food & Caribbean Cuisine, ready to open in about two weeks.”
However, getting the restaurant open took longer than anticipated:
“Friday, December 11, 2009, Myrtle Beach – It took about five months longer than they hoped to get open, but this week Jerome West and Jackie Brewster started serving food at J&B’s Soul Food & Caribbean Cuisine.”
The restaurant was still open the week of Jan. 18, but it was closed the week of Jan. 25.
A computerized voice on an message recording machine answers the phone, and there is a small piece of yellow paper taped to the front door with "Closed" handwritten on it.
